My father Gregory Glover inspired me to create Care Troopers. My story begins when I was in my mid teens my father had a stroke and he was never the same since. Because of that stroke he had early onset dementia. As difficult as it was throughout the beginning of his first few years at home my mother had to make the uneasy decision to send him to a nursing home. Since then my father has been through many nursing homes due to abuse and neglect from staff. We would see bruises on his body, urine and feces on the floors, missing clothes and items we would send, and dirty bedding and linen. There's honestly so much more to list but the bottom line is he was getting abused and neglected in a way no one should ever witness. In 2008 my mother passed away from a stroke she also had. She was also transferred into a nursing facility and was also neglected which resulted in her death. All of this happened in the state of Louisiana while I resided in Texas. It was a fight to get my father here in Texas after my mother passed away, but once I did, I was able to finally care for my father and was able to give him a life he deserved. He began gaining his weight back, have his proper doctors visits, take the proper medications, and finally get his dentures. He began feeling normal again. He was doing things like reading, having better communication, going to stores, amusement parks, telling me what he needed and wanted without fear. My father is now thriving and staying as healthy as can be. He had a stroke in his mid 30's and is now pushing his 70's. My father has been pushing strong and this is his testimony. Through God's grace I was able to change his life around and I can only pray I can do the same for others. Care Troopers was not built for money or greed, It was built from the heart and the passion for those who need the love and care they have failed to receive in the past.
